St. Lawrence University will host Brain Blast. The event is free and open to the public.
Brain Blast will feature faculty and students leading various hands-on and interactive exhibits for all ages that highlight brain function as well as neuroscience research being conducted at St. Lawrence. Attendees can visit various exhibits to learn about the lobes of the brain, brain cells, sensation and perception and more. Students at nearby schools have also been invited to attend the event.
Brain Awareness Week is a global campaign founded by the Dana Foundation's Alliance for Brain Initiatives to increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research. Hundreds of brain awareness events take place each year all over the world. St. Lawrence’s event is being sponsored by St. Lawrence’s neuroscience program, the biology honorary society Beta Beta Beta and the psychology honorary society Psi Chi.
