Beta Beta Beta hosts local girl Scouts for a "Science Fair"

On Monday February 28th the students of Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta, the biology honorary) hosted members of several local girl scout troops for a mini ‘Science Fair ‘ at the Johnson Hall of Science. Approximately 30 Brownie, Junior and Cadette scouts participated in this outreach event aimed at stimulating interest in the sciences. Among other things, the girl scouts learned about cells, human anatomy and neuroscience while participating in fun and interactive activities organized by the Tri-beta members. As they toured our state of the art science facility, the girl scouts also got a chance to see live nematodes and frogs as well as some ‘not so live’ museum specimens. In the end fun was had by all, scouts and Tri-Beta members alike!
