An opening reception for the Senior Year Experience (SYE) Art show was held in the main interior galleries of the Richard. F. Brush Art Gallery on Friday, April 26, 2019. The show features artworks by students in the Art & Art History department’s Senior Year Experience course, in which majors with a concentration in studio art explore the practical and conceptual aspects of becoming an artist, including making a new body of creative work. Students are involved in each step of the exhibition process, including planning, design, installation, and documentation.
The exhibition represents a variety of aesthetic concerns and creative processes. With no overarching theme, the works are connected through their shared time and place of creation, as well as the collaborative conversations that surrounded their execution.
The show runs from April 26 to May 18, 2019. The gallery is free and open to the public. Hours: Monday-Thursday 12-8 pm, Friday and Saturday 12-5 pm. Closed on Sunday.
