One of the North Country’s most notable aspects are its breathtaking sunsets. Being on campus for the summer working as an Admissions Summer Intern afforded me the opportunity to take in the beauty of SLU’s campus and its surrounding areas more than I ever have before.
The St. Lawrence Blog
Who is St. Lawrence University? We are a group of people with countless adventures and even more stories. The St. Lawrence Blog gives our students, faculty and staff the chance to tell their tales, in their own words and in their own way. Sharing these anecdotes in one place gives our community the chance to show how creative, daring and passionate we are about what we do. Alone, these stories are powerful; together they define St. Lawrence.

Beyond a Textbook: My Summer Program in Israel
I was never much of a rule breaker, but violating international law might’ve had to be an exception. In front of me was a large, 10-foot-tall sign prohibiting the entrance into Area A fully controlled by the Palestinian Authority, in Arabic, Hebrew, and English.
The Top 10 "Instagram-able" Places at St. Lawrence
It’s no secret that St. Lawrence’s campus is beautiful. The St. Lawrence charm around every corner brings life and allure to our community. Every season brings a fresh new look, painting the campus in new colors and sights.

Life as a Gainster
Gaines residence hall is on the outskirts of campus. And while some first-year students may have been annoyed with that (which I was at first), that distance gave me a closer knit group of friends than I thought possible and helped me find my voice.
92nd Annual Candlelight Service
The Candlelight Service is a tradition that has held strong for 92 years and counting. It is a cherished event for both the members of the St. Lawrence family and the Canton community.
Thelmo Reflections: A Year in Student Government
One year ago, I was elected president of the student body at St. Lawrence. It has been the best, worst, craziest, most stressful, amazing, wonderful, phenomenal year, and I have learned so much from it! I have loved it even when I’ve hated it and now that my term is ending, I am struggling to put into words what it has meant to me.
As a St. Lawrence hockey player, I think one of the most special experiences for myself has been the opportunity to put on the jersey each year and take the ice against Clarkson.
Favorite Off-Campus Flavors
Some of my family members and friends think I'm a very picky eater. So when I came to St. Lawrence, I vowed to prove them wrong by not only being adventurous on campus, but by exploring new places to eat around the North Country.
Snapshots of SLU
From four weeks of studying and exploring in Copenhagen, Denmark, to spending spring afternoons relaxing and canoeing on the Grasse River in Canton, St. Lawrence University has provided me with two-and-a-half years of incredible opportunities and intellectual discoveries so far.
The Mustachio Bashio Ride
St. Lawrence is an institution where traditions are very much still alive in our day-to-day lives, so we obviously had to do something for Movember: men’s health awareness month! The result: “The Mustachio Bashio” (a.k.a. The Mustache Ride).
