Stoddard
Professor of English and Chair of Global Studies
Stoddard has been at St. Lawrence since 1986, having earned her
A.B. at Mount Holyoke and her Ph.D. at UCLA. Her current teaching
interests include Irish and Caribbean literatures as well as post-colonial
theory.
Professor Stoddard has been extremely active in the University’s
First-Year Program and gender studies program as well in efforts
to diversify the curriculum through the Cultural Encounters program.
She is a past recipient of an award given annually to a faculty
member who is outstanding for his or her interest in understanding
the education and welfare of the St. Lawrence body as a whole.

for good reason – she has an unfailing commitment to liberal
education.”
