Jessica Parrillo
Assistant Director of Counseling Services As an undergraduate
at Washington and Lee University, Jessica Parrillo found her calling
as a resident assistant and a domestic violence/sexual assault
crisis volunteer. “These
activities solidified my desire and passion for wanting to work
with college students and to address the issue of sexual assault
with this group,” says
Parrillo.
“I think college is such an important time in one’s
life and my job allows me to help the students I work with recognize
their unique strengths and potential so that they can be successful
in all areas of their lives,” says Parrillo.
In addition to individual counseling, Parrillo is the coordinator
of the University Advocate Program (an on-campus resource provider
for those students who have been victims of sexual misconduct,
including faculty/staff and student volunteers who are trained
to serve as a support system for survivors).
“I love coming to work every day and having the opportunity
to be able to help students grow and develop themselves as individuals,” says
Parrillo.
