Kling
Professor of government
Joseph Kling received a Master of Social Work Degree from Rutgers
University and a Ph. D. in Political Science from the City University
of New York. He teaches courses in American Government, Public Policy,
Political Theory, and American Social Movements
Kling has co-edited two volumes dealing with the relation between
class, community, and political action. The first is Dilemmas of
Activism: Class, Community, and the Politics of Local Mobilization,
with Prudence S.Posner. The second is Community Mobilization in
the Era of Global Cities, with Robert Fisher.
Emily Hunt ’04 says, “He is a very knowledgeable man
who is willing to help his students become better writers and thinkers.”

and social thought with Dr. Kling. The material and discussions
