Student Workers

If you see these ladies around campus, feel free to stop and chat with them!

Jordan Sheridan Class of 2017

Hometown: Fayetteville, NY

Majors: Business and Communications

Minor: Caribbean and Latin American Studies

I volunteer because I have been given so much from generous people and I just want to pay it forward and do the same for the Canton and St. Lawrence University community. It's a wonderful feeling to have after helping organizations and individuals who need it. One of the main reasons I work for Volunteer Services here at SLU is to give other students the opportunity to experience that same feeling.

Lauren Carey Class of 2017

Hometown: Jamesville, NY

Major:Business and Communications

I volunteer because I can't imagine spending my free time in any other way than helping out others. I also like working with all of the student groups on campus. Since I can't be involved in all of them, I may as well try and help each one out in any way possible. Helping others, with others, is a great way to get to know people.

Mishell Manrique Class of 2019

From: Arequipa, Perú

Hometown: New Haven, CT

Majors: Global Studies and Government

Minor: Arabic

Volunteering has been part of the backbone that I have grown up with. Giving back to the many communities that gave me shelter and education is part of the cycle we should all follow. I work in volunteer services because I believe in the mission to extend our helping hands to anyone in need, regardless of their situation. It only takes one to start a ripple of change.
