Church & Community Program

Church and Community Program offers a variety of one time and ongoing volunteer projects.  Their mission is as follows:

"The Church and Community Program was established in 1974 by Clergy of several local churches in a cooperative effort to respond to the needs of local residents by utilizing resources of both the Churches and the Community.

The program goals remain to provide a safety net for those in crisis situations by assisting with emergency needs such as food, clothing and some financial assistance that other agencies are unable to provide. We also offer referrals to local agencies for additional on-going assistance. In order to operate efficiently we need a broad volunteer base, this provides many volunteer opportunities for area residents.

Through donations from the churches, local businesses and community members who support our program along with the grant allocation from the Food Bank of Central NY we are able to provide food and clothing to those in need."

The food pantry and thrift store are located at 7 Main Street in Canton.
