The New York State Police logo is a blue circle with two tan bands, one on the exterior edge, the other just inside. Text that follows the circle on the inside the outer band reads "NEW YORK STATE POLICE" ... inside the inner-most circle is the New York State Coat of Arms, the center of which shows a ship and sloop on a river bordered by a grassy shore and a mountain range with the sun rising behind it. Liberty and Justice stand on either side, under an American eagle.
