Ashley Rife is an interdisciplinary scholar of critical rhetoric, place/space, history, consumer culture, and arts-based research. She is particularly interested in unpacking–in the words of the National Park Service–”significant places”, their meanings, their impacts, and the structures which imbue them with power.

Ashley has a passion for telling stories about past(s) through critical, reflexive practice. Therefore, she is also invested in applying critical rhetorical skills and knowledge to public humanities work through public history, historic preservation, and heritage interpretation.
