Title: Why a Mathematician Can't Tune a Piano

“You can tune a piano, but you can’t tuna fish!”  Actually, you can’t tune a piano, either, at least if you want the frequencies of the notes to satisfy some very simple mathematical relationships.  This talk will explain why.  You don’t need any background in music to understand the talk; also, the math involved is very basic, so feel free to invite your musically-inclined friends.
