My man Eugene, what a great buddy and support you were over the summer of 2007. I enjoyed working with you...sharing all those African stories..with Cliff, Dave, Gabe et cetera. Did you get my Christmas seasonal greeting card? Hope you did...because this is exactly what i wrote in it!! Love you and miss you.

Eugene has been the cleaner at 58 park st. for several years now and while we had our differences he was always open to improvements in communication between the residents and the facilities personnel. It just won't be the same house without Eugene. He will be missed, my condolences to his family.

Eugene was a devoted person who took pride in his work, and I will greatly miss him. I want to send my condolences to Eugene's family--you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Eugene was always the type of guy that was approachable and you could ask him to help you out with anything. The hard work he did for us will never fully be appreciated, but I thank him for his dedication to the student body and for making our dorms a nice place to come back to after a day of classes. I send my personal condolences to his family and close friends. You will be greatly missed, Eugene.

Eugene...where to start. You were a great guy. I had fun working with you this summer. Definitely had some fun memories and I'll never forget it. Next summer we won't be able to work together, but eventually we will be able to chill again. You will be missed! Take care.

You were a great man. One of a kind for sure. You had the ability to make things fun. Working with you this summer made my summer go by fast and it was enjoyable. You made life at The Hub (1 Lincoln) when I lived there last year enjoyable through all you were willing to do. You really were one of a kind. I was looking forward to working with you again next summer, but I guess we will have to save that for another place and another time. I will see you again. My deepest prayers go out to your family. Miss you.

I had the pleasure of working with Eugene this past summer. We had our differences (mostly because I could never be on time to work), but at the end of the day he was a great guy who I'm sure will be missed greatly on campus. Some of my favorite memories from this summer come from working with Eugene. I'll never forget the water fights Cody, Brandon, Cliff, Amy, Eugene and I had at least once a week (including that one time I was soaked in blue Gatorade), all of the episodes of the Price Is Right and that one time my bike was run over and Eugene fixed up another one for me.
Eugene- I hope that wherever you are now, that they have squirt guns and water balloons.
Leslee- I send my deepest condolences to you and your family. Take care of yourself!
Cliff, Gabe, Shawn, Bev, Dave, Joe, Christine and the rest of the SLU staff/students who knew Eugene- I wish I could be there to support all of you in person, however you are all in my thoughts. Take care. This too shall pass.

For the years I lived at 62 Park Street, Eugene was a welcome presence in the morning. As a late riser, I would stumble out of my room with my coffee cup, and Eugene would always be there to smile and say good morning. By my second year there he definitely knew my name, and was usually the first voice I heard after leaving my room. And it wasn't just me-- every girl in the house knew Eugene, and welcomed him. He was a reliable constant, he cheered us all up. And it was obvious that his constant smile and dedication to the students of St. Lawrence were merely facets of his personality, his heart. He will be missed, and to his family: our thoughts are with you.

When I first got moved to off campus housing to work for the summer I was pretty upset. I had settled in to my previous location. However, I was placed in the park street locations, working with Cliff. With Cliff came Eugene. We worked as a team, and seemed to do a lot together. The summer soon turned into an enjoyable one. As it turns out I was placed with great guys to work with! It seems that Eugene and I hardly agreed on much, or anything at all. There was always some sort of discussion or argument taking place. However, knowing how I am, I love to argue, I have a big feeling, Eugene caught onto this quickly, and was looking to cause some trouble :) I will never forget our water fights, watching Maury at 9:00 break, never knowing if some prank was in order, or the fights between Eugene and Phylicia.
Eugene I will certainly miss your random text messages to me. I am so glad I spent last Friday being so unproductive, talking back and forth with you all day long! Even though, I certainly was mad that you woke me up at 6:00 in the morning!! I'm thankful for the time spent with you. 'm sure you are watching down on all of us, please keep those that were closest to you in your watch, I am sure they need it now more than ever! I'll miss you Buddy. To Leslee and rest of the family, Cliff and rest of the cleaning crew that worked closely with Eugene, I wish I could be there today, give you each a hug, to ease the pain even if just for a moment however, that can't happen so you are in my thoughts and prayers as the days pass. Stay strong.
