Subject: In Memory: Stella Tamblin
We have received the sad news that our retired colleague, Stella R. Tamblin, died at her home on April 28 at age 88.
Stella joined the St. Lawrence dining services staff in 1969 and retired in 1986. Her former supervisor, retired Director of Dining services Jack Taylor, remembers Stella as a very happy, positive person, beloved by her co-workers. Stella made the workplace a cheerful one for the students she served and the co-workers she assisted. In retirement, Stella traveled, enjoyed dinners with friends and families, read many books and baked her famous apple cake and other desserts. Stella was a member of the Gouverneur, DeKalb Hermon, Edwards, and Canton Senior Citizens Clubs, the United Church of Richville; she was the historian and a past president of the Richville Historical Association, a 32-year-member of the Richville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and on the Richville Library Board.
Stella is survived by her son and daughters and their families, who have our most sincere condolences on their loss.
Allen-Denesha Funeral Home, DeKalb Junction entrusted with arrangements. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 10th, 1 – 3 p.m., at the United Church of Richville, a memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. As is our custom, we have a memorial Web site created for your reflections.
