Hundreds of students, faculty, staff, alumni and community friends gathered in the Student Center for its official grand opening on Feb. 21, 2004.

Special dedication of the John W. Hannon '44 Room, a space for meetings of governance bodies of the University and named in memory of the late Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Trustees. On Thursday, February 19, the University announced a $1.4 million gift from Trustee Emerita Marjorie Watters Longley '47. Her gift, which will be paid at a later date from her estate, will be directed to the Student Center and to two scholarships. The University names the Marjorie Watters Longley '47 Student Leadership Suite in her honor.

Donors and University officials joined together to cut the ribbon for the official grand opening, above. Below, Jim Crandell '75 joins Ann H. Sullivan and President Daniel F. Sullivan.

The St. Lawrence Univesity Gospel Choir peformes in the Laurentian Room. The Choir was one of several student musical groups to sing and perform throughout the day.

Allan and Joyce Monaco and members of their family and friends raised funds to donate a gift to the Student Center in memory of Mark Monaco '96. The Monacos attened the dedication and spoke about their son's love and loyalty to St. Lawrence.
