Reunion 2006: the largest
gathering of Laurentians ever--over 1,100 strong--came to campus to celebrate
the University's 150th birthday and their own anniversaries of graduation and
special affinity connections.

Hale Chapel in Atwood Hall was rededicated after
a refurbishment project uncovered the interfaith mosaic and installed new carpeting
and facilities. Hale Chapel can be used nor for services, meditation and events
for all faith traditions among St. Lawrence students alumni, faculty and staff.
President Daniel F. Sullivan offered
remarks. The interfaith mosaic is at his left.

The planning team for the rededication ceremony included several Theology School
graduates, Chaplain Kathleen Buckley, and Jon Wheeler '80, a member of the
Sesquicentennial Committee.

Rev. David Weissbard '65 unveils the new plaque, honoring the
Wheeler Family, who donated the funds for the restoration in honor of their
parents, Platt '44 and Marilyn '45 Wheeler.

Campus faith advisors Chandreyi Basu (Hindu), Sister Bethany Fitzgerald (Catholic),
Professor and Rabbi Michael Greenwald (Judaism) and Associate Chaplain Shaun
Whitehead (progressive Christian) each offered a blessing.

Hulit Pressley Taylor '61 was secretary of the Alumni Council for nine years.
Over 100 alumni were part of the Council/Citation affinity group, chaired by former Council Presidents Joe Richardson '63 and Doug Brown '63.
Several former Alumni Directors returned to campus; here are five: Frank Shields '54, Bill Davis '50, Kim Hissong '94, Leigh Berry '64, and Doug Brown '63. Sarge Whittier '57 also attended the Reunion, as did assistant directors Jacquie Kuno '84 and Whitney Brice '87.
Five former Council presidents were among the 11 on campus, though not all 11 were in the same place at the same time! From left are Alexandra Kirby Taylor '89, who began her term on Saturday, June 3; Doug Brown '63, Aitchie Ellison '45, Robert Jay Frank '67 and Joe Richardson '63. Theology School graduates had their first-ever Reunion. The Theology School closed in 1965.
70 members of the Laurentian Singers, from Gene Navias '49 (one of the original Laurentian Singers) to members of the Class of 2009, sand together at their reunion, honoring the 60th anniversary of the founding of the choral group.
Twenty past recipients of the University's Alumni Citation and Sol Feinstone Award were honored at the annual Awards Ceremony.

Ann Garlock '56 accepts the G. Atwood Manley Society Class Award for the class
with the largest number of planned gifts.

Bill Leckonby '39 accepts the G. Atwood Manley Society Achievement Award for
his loyalty and commitment to planning for St. Lawrence's future.

The Class of 1981 received the Saints Class Gift award for raising the largest
class gift: $1,090,063.

The Centennial Class of 1956 dressed in 19th century costumes to earn the Hervey
Cup Best in Parade award.

The third-largest Reunion gift total, over $2.7 million, is a cause for great
celebration!
