Phi Kappa Sigma placed on probation by
national
On March 4, 2004, the national leadership of Phi Kappa Sigma extended
the Beta Iota chapter's probation through June 15, 2005. The chapter
was first placed on probation on October 2003, and because of violations
of its probationary conditions, the chapter earned an extension.
Probationary conditions include:
• ALL activities that violate Phi Kappa Sigma Risk Management Policy must
stop immediately.
• The International Headquarters and its Grand Delta will
schedule a Chapter visit in the
next 6 weeks. All members will be required to attend a special Chapter meeting
to
discuss the violations of the past 18 months and the direction of the Chapter.
Any
member who does not attend the meeting will be removed from the active roster
and made an alumnus.
• The Chapter must send officers to the International Headquarters
to conduct training
before the 2004-2005 academic year begins.
• The Chapter must score at least an 80 on Mitchell Chapter Standards for
the 2004 – 2005 academic year.
• The Chapter must send at least two members to "Men
of Honor" 2005.
• VIOLATION OF ANY OF PHI KAPPA SIGMA RISK MANAGEMENT POLICIES
WILL, ALLOW IMMEDIATE SUPENSION OF THE BETA IOTA CHAPTER CHARTER
BY THE PHI KAPPA SIGMA INTERNATIONAL FRATERNITY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.
• Probationary status will be reevaluated by the Executive
Committee upon receipt of the
Chapter's petition for probation termination (see enclosed Probation Terms
for more
information).
The International Headquarters is committed to working with the
Beta Iota Chapter and its members to help them through this situation
and become a Chapter that meets all the obligations and expectations
of Phi Kappa Sigma.
