Phi Kappa Sigma placed on probation by national

On March 4, 2004, the national leadership of Phi Kappa Sigma extended the Beta Iota chapter's probation through June 15, 2005. The chapter was first placed on probation on October 2003, and because of violations of its probationary conditions, the chapter earned an extension.

Probationary conditions include:

• ALL activities that violate Phi Kappa Sigma Risk Management Policy must stop immediately.

• The International Headquarters and its Grand Delta will schedule a Chapter visit in the
next 6 weeks. All members will be required to attend a special Chapter meeting to
discuss the violations of the past 18 months and the direction of the Chapter. Any
member who does not attend the meeting will be removed from the active roster and made an alumnus.

• The Chapter must send officers to the International Headquarters to conduct training
before the 2004-2005 academic year begins.

• The Chapter must score at least an 80 on Mitchell Chapter Standards for the 2004 – 2005 academic year.

• The Chapter must send at least two members to "Men of Honor" 2005.

• VIOLATION OF ANY OF PHI KAPPA SIGMA RISK MANAGEMENT POLICIES WILL, ALLOW IMMEDIATE SUPENSION OF THE BETA IOTA CHAPTER CHARTER BY THE PHI KAPPA SIGMA INTERNATIONAL FRATERNITY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.

• Probationary status will be reevaluated by the Executive Committee upon receipt of the
Chapter's petition for probation termination (see enclosed Probation Terms for more
information).

The International Headquarters is committed to working with the Beta Iota Chapter and its members to help them through this situation and become a Chapter that meets all the obligations and expectations of Phi Kappa Sigma.
