Subject: In Memory: Carol Morrissette
The St. Lawrence family mourns the death of Carol Morrissette, senior secretary in the Psychology department since 2006, and our colleague since 1980. We received the sad news this morning that Carol died at the Massena Memorial Hospital after being stricken while she was visiting a friend.
Among the faculty and staff who worked closely with Carol over the years were those of the former Military Studies program, Admissions, Campus Support Services and, most recently, Psychology.
Especially devoted to St. Lawrence students, Carol took great pride in her role as coordinator of the Psychology Department’s newsletter committee, formed entirely by students. Professor Tom Greene reports that Carol was really excited about the opening of the fall semester. As much as she loved St. Lawrence, Carol adored her family and was, I have heard, a loving mother and very proud grandmother.
We will stay close to Carol’s children David ’92 and Kimberly as they grieve this deeply sad and sudden loss, and we will keep you informed of the family’s wishes for expressions of condolence and plans for memorial service. I invite you to honor Carol by posting your reflections on the Memorial Web page we have established.
While Lynn and I are new to the St. Lawrence community, we nevertheless know the profound loss that Carol’s death means to her family, many friends and colleagues.
