The new Meagher Study and Exam Room in Whitman Hall was dedicated on Saturday, February 10, with alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends gathered to honor its namesake, John Meagher, director of academic services for students with special needs.

President Daniel F. Sullivan welcomes the crowd of over 100 people and acknowledged the generous gifts of Robert and Sally Gioia, parents of Carolyn ’05 and Robert and Mary Wortmann, parents of Robert ’06, whose gifts made possible the renovation of space in Whitman Hall.


Vice President of the University and Dean of Academic Affairs Grant Cornwell spoke about the importance of quiet and dedicated space for students with special learning needs.


Robert Wortmann, P'06, offered his view on how John Meagher and staff supported his son's academic achievement.


Nick O'Conner '08 spoke on behalf of students.
