Subject: In Memory: Morris LaFaver
We mourn the death on October 31 of our retired colleague, Morris K. LaFaver, who retired in January 1999 as head electrician for our campus, after 24 years of dedicated service of the highest standards.
His family, including William “Billy” LaFaver, who works in our Facilities Operations department, remembers Mo as an exceptional guitarist who enjoyed church, country and bluegrass music and faithfully offered the gift of music to his church. For the past several years, Morris and his friends “the Ole Barn Boys” gathered in his barn on Wednesday mornings making music, enjoying coffee and doughnuts, laughter and jokes. A Sunday school teacher, board member and lay leader of his church, Mo also volunteered for the Lisbon Fire Department and the local hospice.
Mo is survived by his wife of 56 years, Arlene; six sons, David, Allen, Daniel, Charles, Thomas and William; three daughters, Nancy, Darlene, and Laurie and his extended family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for the celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. at the Morley Wesleyan Church on November 3, 2011. Calling hours will be held on November 2, 2011 at the Frary Funeral Home in Ogdensburg from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Burial in the Morley Cemetery will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Morley Wesleyan Church, Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or to the Lisbon Fire Department.
