Subject: In Memory: Al Grant
Please join friends and co-workers in honoring the life and work of Mr. Alexander “Al” G. Grant, who died December 25, 2011, at the Fletcher Allen Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 29, 2011. Al retired in 1998 from custodial services, after a 19-year career at St. Lawrence, and returned as a part-time driver for the Security and Safety Office’s transportation services program a year ago.
Those of you who knew and worked with Al describe him as kind, gentle, warm and caring, devoted to the students he served and to the University’s mission. Al also offered similar devotion to the Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a member for 36 years, most recently as its secretary.
Our sincere condolences have been sent to his wife, Sue Ann Grant; their four sons; their daughter; and all members of the Grant family. Contributions in Al’s memory can be made to the Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department.
