Associate
Professor of Education James Shuman, chair of the education department
at St. Lawrence, recently received the Service Key Award from the
St. Lawrence Valley Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa International, an international
association for professional educators.

on October 4, for Higher Education Night, which also saw participation
by over 100 colleges, universities and institutions.

Being
nominated for two 2005 Boston Music Awards may not be the highlight
of the year for former St. Lawrence student Grace Potter and her band,
the Nocturnals. According to the Boston Globe, their performance
"stole the show" and they are opening for some very well-known
national acts on their current tour.
