The phrase "check out that bike" has a whole new meaning
on the St. Lawrence University campus. Beginning this fall, anyone
with an I.D. that allows them to check books out of the University's
libraries can also check out a bicycle, aiding the environment by
minimizing driving. For

in a just-for-fun benefit basketball game, that is, with Vice President
and Dean of Academic Affairs Grant Cornwell as the victorious coach

Six members of the Class of 2006 who were elected in
August to St. Lawrence's chapter
of the national honor society Phi Beta Kappa participated in an induction
ceremony during Family Weekend on campus. For

pyschology honorary, Psi Chi. For

At
1:50 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, hundreds of St. Lawrence students
were at the same place--the top of one of the Adirondack High Peaks!
The Outing Club's annual Peak Weekend achieved its goal to have students
on all 46 peaks, and 43 of the 46 groups timed their hikes to make
it to the top at 1:50 p.m. in honor of the University's 150th anniversary.

This week: Fun Facts about St. Lawrence
The St. Lawrence motto is Fides et Veritas, which can translated
from the Latin as either loyalty and integrity or, more literally,
faith and truth.
The Thelomathesian Society, the current student government organization,
began in 1863 as a debating club. The name comes from the Greek
for love of knowledge and desire to learn.
