Lawrence University held its 140th Commencement on May 15, 2005
at an outdoor ceremony for the 20th year in a row. The Commencement
Web site features a photo album from the weekend, details about
the Class of 2005, and speeches from President Daniel F. Sullivan,
Senior Class President Anna Burke, Senior Orator Angela Berry, honorary
degree recipients The Reverend Joan Brown Campbell, Jeff Cook'70
and William Kennedy, and North Country Citation recipient John B.
Johnson, Jr. Biographies of these four honorees also are posted

Trustees,
faculty, staff, students and guests celebrated the groundbreaking
for St. Lawrence's largest construction project ever, as the Sarah
Johnson Redlich ’82 Hall of Science becomes a reality. The
project features two interconnected buildings that will provide
teaching and research labs for biology, chemistry and psychology;
offices for biology and chemistry faculty, and informal community
space for all students and faculty. Check out the photo album

Alumna
Norma B. Tarbell-Sunday, at left in the photo, has donated a flag
representing the founding of the Iroquois Confederacy for use at
ceremonial occasions at St. Lawrence University. St. Lawrence flew
the flag for the first time at Commencement on May 15. For
