| St. Lawrence Theme Houses Will Welcome Trick-Or-Treaters On Halloween St. Lawrence University's theme residences will offer treats on Halloween, Wednesday, October 31, for community children from 6 to 8 p.m. The residences, occupied by students who have common interests, are located near the University and will be identified that evening by bright yellow paper pumpkins hung on the front of the houses. | Absurdist Play 'The Bald Soprano' To Be Performed At SLU The absurdist classic The Bald Soprano, by Eugene Ionesco, will be performed at St. Lawrence University Wednesday through Saturday, November 7 through 10, at 8 p.m. each evening in the Edson R. Miles Black Box Theatre, Griffiths Arts Center. Admission is free, but tickets are required. | SLU Graduate, Emergency M.D., To Discuss Physician Disciplinary Procedures In Talk David W. Clauss, an emergency medicine physician at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont, and a 1983 graduate of St. Lawrence University, will give a talk titled "When Doctors Go Bad: The Disciplinary Process for Physicians" on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Hepburn Hall at St. Lawrence. The Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science recently inducted 29 new members into the Mathematics Honor Society Pi Mu Epsilon. The University's chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon, New York Epsilon, was established in 1935. The national organization is "dedicated to the promotion of mathematics and recognition of students who successfully pursue mathematical understanding." For more |
| Five Students Participate In GEM Grad Lab At Cornell Five St. Lawrence students, participants in CSTEP and the McNair Scholars program, participated in the GEM Grad Lab at Cornell University October 20, 2012. The workshop was part of an initiative through the National GEM Consortium, an organization designed to provide opportunities for underrepresented students interested in pursuing doctoral study in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields. Volleyball ended its season on a positive note, going 2-2 at the Houghton Tournament, finishing the year at 11-24. Men's soccer earned the third seed in the Liberty League Tournament by beating Clarkson 5-0 Saturday. The Saints played Plattsburgh to a scoreless tie earlier in the week. Women's soccer closed out its season with an 8-6-2 mark after beating Clarkson 1-0. Women's hockey swept its ECAC openeing weekend, 3-2 over RPI and 6-1 over Union at Appleton Arena. Women's cross country won its 11th straight Liberty League title, while men's cross country made it 18 in a row. Field hockey ended its season at 3-13 after beating Morrisville 5-1. In swimming and diving, the women beat Skidmore and lost to Nazareth, while the men were swept by the same teams. More Saints Sports |
