For the sixth time in the program's history, the St. Lawrence University riding team won the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championship last weekend in Raleigh, NC. The Saints finished with 31 points, followed by Skidmore with 24 and Brown with 17. Emily D'Alessandro '15 won the national individual championship in intermediate equitation on the flat. In Collegiate Cup competition, Katherine Figueroa '14 and Tim Moore '12 took first place in their events for the Saints, coached by Mary Drueding. Drueding received the IHSA Lifetime Achievement Award. |

Women's track competed at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Outdoor Championships last weekend at the University of Rochester and placed second. Individual champions for the Saints included Dihya Biswall '15 in the triple jump, Carly Stine '15 in the 400 hurdles and Heather Cutler '12 in the discus. Men's track finished fourth, with first-place finishes from Jarell Roberts '12 in the 100 and A.J. Blaisdell '13 in the discus. Baseball clinched first place in the Liberty League with a sweep of rival Clarkson, 13-1 and 6-5 in nine innings on Sunday. Saturday, the Saints beat Clarkson 11-6, but dropped a 5-4 decision to the Knights in the second game. The softball season ended in the Liberty League tournament. The Saints beat Union 5-4, but lost twice to RPI by identical 4-3 scores. Women's tennis advanced to the Liberty League semifinals with a 5-1 win over RIT, but dropped a 5-2 to Vassar in the semis. Men's lacrosse lost its Liberty League semifinal game with Union 10-9. More Saints Sports |
