Women's Hockey Coach Wells Named National Coach of the YearSt. Lawrence University head women's hockey coach Chris Wells '92 has been selected by his peers as the American Hockey Coaches Association Division I Coach of the Year. Wells guided the Saints to a 24-10-4 overall record, the program's first ECAC Hockey tournament title and a bid into the NCAA Tournament. Softball Starts Strong Led by Perfect FreshmanSoftball has gotten off to a flying start with its trip to Floria, posting a 9-3 record. The highlight of the trip was the program's first-ever perfect game tossed by Kyle Plimpton '15 in a 1-0 win over Curry College. Baseball also played well down south, going 6-1 with wqins over Thiel, Lasell, Elms and Otterbein last week. Men's lacrosse improved to 4-0 by beating Geneseo 9-8 and New England College 9-6. Women's lacrosse beat SUNY Potsdam 20-9 and Brockport 15-14. Women's tennis has raced out to a 7-0 start with wins over Stevens Tech, Franklin and Marshall and St. Mary's last week. Men's tennis got its first win with a 8-1 decision against Mt. St. Mary's. At the ECAC Hockey banquet last week, men's hockey player Kyle Flanagan '13 earned third-team all-star honors and Chris Martin '15 was named to the all-rookie team. More Saints Sports |
