Women's Hockey Coach Wells Named National Coach of the Year
St. Lawrence University head women's hockey coach Chris Wells '92 has been selected by his peers as the American Hockey Coaches Association Division I Coach of the Year. Wells guided the Saints to a 24-10-4 overall record, the program's first ECAC Hockey tournament title and a bid into the NCAA Tournament.  The Saints went on an 18-2-1 stretch from December 1 to March 3, which culminated in a 3-1 win over No. 3 Cornell and the ECAC Hockey title.

Poet Joanie Mackowski In St. Lawrence University Writers Series
Poet Joanie Mackowski will speak and read from recent works in an appearance at St. Lawrence University on Thursday, March 22, at 8 p.m. in the Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall. The event, part of the University Writers Series, is open to the public, free of charge.

Guest Artist Donald Sutherland Slated For 3rd Bach Marathon At SLU
The Third Johann Sebastian Bach Marathon at St. Lawrence University will be on Saturday, March 24, from 2 to 7 p.m. in Gunnison Memorial Chapel. Organists, University presidents, a pianist and chamber musicians will present some of the most outstanding compositions by Bach.

Psychology Faculty, Students Attend Conference
Five faculty members and 20 students from the psychology department attended the annual Eastern Psychological Association Conference, held in Pittsburgh March 1 to 4.

Softball Starts Strong Led by Perfect Freshman
Softball has gotten off to a flying start with its trip to Floria, posting a 9-3 record. The highlight of the trip was the program's first-ever perfect game tossed by Kyle Plimpton '15 in a 1-0 win over Curry College. Baseball also played well down south, going 6-1 with wqins over Thiel, Lasell, Elms and Otterbein last week. Men's lacrosse improved to 4-0 by beating Geneseo 9-8 and New England College 9-6. Women's lacrosse beat SUNY Potsdam 20-9 and Brockport 15-14. Women's tennis has raced out to a 7-0 start with wins over Stevens Tech, Franklin and Marshall and St. Mary's last week. Men's tennis got its first win with a 8-1 decision against Mt. St. Mary's. At the ECAC Hockey banquet last week, men's hockey player Kyle Flanagan '13 earned third-team all-star honors and Chris Martin '15 was named to the all-rookie team.
