St. Lawrence University's Martin Luther King Jr. Day Event January 23
The Martin Luther King Jr. Sacred Song Service will be celebrated at St. Lawrence University on Monday, January 23, at 5 p.m. in Gunnison Memorial Chapel, closing out the first day of classes in the spring 2012 semester. The theme is "Drum Major for Service."

The nature and extent of the rights owed to Palestinians are explored in a new book by St. Lawrence University Professor of Global Studies John Collins, titled Global Palestine, published by Columbia University Press/Hurst and released January 17.

Men's Squash Opens Roadtrip with Sweep
Men's squash improved to 6-2 with impressive wins over Bowdoin (8-1) and Colby (9-0) to start a long stretch of road games. Women's squash dropped its matches, 9-0 to Bowdoin and 8-1 to Colby. Women's basketball ran its unbeaten streak to six games, and stands 5-0 int he Liberty League, after beating Clarkson 55-49, RIT 61-45 and William Smith 78-63. Men's basketball dropped its three games last week, 65-52 to Clarkson, 69-58 to RIT and 73-56 to Hobart. Women's hockey stayed hot, downing Vermont 6-1, Brown 3-0 and Yale 7-1 to extend its winning streak to seven. Men's hockey tied Yale 3-3 and lost to Brown 4-1.
