| Vice President and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid Jeffrey Rickey was the guest blogger on AskJohnAboutCollege.com December 14, with advice for high school students on how to respond to all of the mail they receive from colleges. Rickey also posted a guest column on CollegeXpress.com, with advice for how to get the most out a college tour. |
| In the WAMC public radio "Academic Minute" on December 14, Associate Professor of Statistics Michael Schuckers gives an analysis of the hockey "shootout." The program is distributed nation-wide and is available on the web. |
| An essay by Assistant Professor of Psychology Serge Onyper, explaining research he conducted that showed chewing gum briefly before an exam may boost your score on the test, was the lead feature on NBC.com's Education Nation website December 12. The research was reported on HealthDay.com, which supplies health-related news to a number of other outlets on the Internet, as well as radio and television. Outlets reporting the research included ABC radio news, U.S. News & World Report, iVillage, MSN.com, Philly.com (the Philadelphia Inquirer's website) and the Daily Mail in London. A story about the research, including an interview with Onyper, was published on the website Live Science on December 16. |

Jacob Drewiske '12 scored with 3:57 to play to give the men's hockey team a 2-1 win over Vermont December 17 to end the first semester with a 7-10 record. Sam DeMello '13 and Alex Laird '13 were named first-team All Americans for men's soccer, the first time the program has had two first-team picks. Five Saints were named to the regional team and coach Bob Durocher was named Coach of the Year for the region. Women's soccer placed Elena Rogers '12 on the regional team. More Saints Sports |
