Alumni Reunion Weekend At St. Lawrence June 2 Through 5
St. Lawrence University will welcome graduates to campus for Alumni Reunion Weekend, June 2 through 5, with a schedule that includes variety of educational, recreational and social events, including seminars; tours of the campus and excursions to area attractions; a talk by President William L. Fox; and the traditional Parade of Classes.

Tanner Fellowships Awarded To Six Students
Six students were awarded Tanner Fellowships for 2011, encouraging students "to enlarge their capacities to make a positive and creative mark on the world by enabling them to design and pursue educational experiences not otherwise available to them."

Journal Publishes Article By Prof. Hou
An article by Assistant Professor of Sociology Xiaoshuo Hou, titled "From Mao to the Market: Community Capitalism in Rural China," has been published in the March 2011 issue of the journal Theory, Culture & Society.

Maine Senator Susan Collins '75 was the Commencement speaker at the University of Maine on May 7, and was awarded an honorary degree at the ceremony.

Conservation biology major Lizzy Stokes-Cawley '11 wrote a letter to the editor of the Watertown Daily Times, encouraging purchase and consumption of locally sourced food, that was published in the May 9, 2011 edition. |
The Watertown Daily Times published a "q-and-a" with Viebranz Visiting Writer Peter Selgin on May 12, 2011; research grants to faculty from the New York Power Authority were the subject of a feature story in the paper on May 8, 2011.

Caligiore Earns All America Honor at NCAA Golf Tournament
Women's golfer Aimee Caligiore '13 placed 14th at the NCAA Division III Tournament in Florida last week, gaining All America status with the finish. Baseball competed at the Liberty League Tournament, where the team opened with a 5-2 loss to RPI, but bounced back with a 5-4 win over Skidmore in an elimination game. The Saints' elimination matchup with RPI was canceled by rain, ending the Saints' season with a 19-20 record. For men's track, John Johnston '12 set a facility record and met NCAA provisional qualifying standards in winning the 10,000 at Oneonta Saturday. Chris Funch '11 also met NCAA standards in the 3,000 steeplechase, where he placed second.
