Fordham Hernandez Wins SLU's Top Prof Award For Second Time
St. Lawrence University Associate Professor of Performance and Communication Arts Traci Fordham Hernandez is the recipient of this year's Owen D. Young Outstanding Faculty Award, as voted by members of the senior class. The award is the only one given to faculty that is chosen by students.

New Edition Of SLU Prof's Book On Writer Alice Munro Published
An updated and expanded edition of Alice Munro: Writing Her Lives, by St. Lawrence University Dana Professor of Canadian Studies Robert Thacker, has been published in paperback, and is available now in the United States. The original, published in 2005, was only available in Canada.

The 13th Overseas Young Chinese Forum Annual Conference will be held at St. Lawrence University May 13 through 15, with the theme "Debating the China Model." The event is also funded by a grant from the Freeman Foundation.

Jordan Marks '12 Awarded Internship In Indonesia
Jordan Marks '12, of Rouses Point, NY, will participate in an internship in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, this summer, through the Freeman Indonesia Nonprofit Internship Program. The program provides an opportunity for American and Indonesian students pursuing U.S. undergraduate degrees to intern together in an Indonesian nonprofit organization.

Jennifer Lipps '12, of Fairport, NY, has been accepted into the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at the University of Texas, Galveston, for neuroscience. She will be studying nicotinic receptors in Alzheimer's disease.

Four Riders Claim National Titles, Saints Reserve Champions
It was an amazing weekend for the riding team at the national championships in Lexington, KY. As a team, the Saints placed second to claim the Reserve Champion crown. Individually, national championships were won by Jordan Koivu '11 in team intermediate equitation flat, Jenna Gunnell '13 in walk-trot, Sophie Miller '13 in walk-trot-canter and Casey Zuraitis '13 in intermediate equitation over fences. Women's tennis finished fourth at the Liberty League tournament, led by Stephanie Finn '11, who posted a perfect 6-0 record for the weekend. Baseball went 2-2 in a crucial Liberty League series with rival Clarkson, claiming the final slot in this weekend's conference playoffs. Softball lost its first two games in the Liberty League playoffs, 17-1 to RPI and 6-4 to Rochester. Men's track finished fourth at the NYSCTC Meet. Steve Kiplagat '12 was the lone winner for the Saints, taking first in the 1500. Women's track was also fourth, led by a second-place finish from Jenna Hulton '12 in the 1500.
