SLU 'Settles The Score' With Donor Participation Win Over Hobart William Smith
After a hard-fought battle to see whose graduates are more loyal to alma mater, St. Lawrence University has emerged the victor, with a total of 2,347 alumni donors in the month of June, beating Hobart and William Smith Colleges' 1,530 donors. The friendly competition was called "Settle the Score," and for both schools, the challenge resulted in the highest number of alumni donors in the last 10 years for the month of June.

Through partnerships with institutions in other countries, St. Lawrence University will expand the number and variety of options for students to study abroad. New partnership programs have been established in Thailand, New Zealand, Japan, Italy and the Czech Republic.

Sports News St. Lawrence University's athletic program capped another outstanding year both in competition and in the classroom with a 21st-place finish in the final Learfield Sports Director's Cup standings, while the top two grade- point averages in the Class of 2010 belonged to student-athletes.

Dana Professor of Economics Steven Horwitz was a guest on the program "Freedom Watch," on Fox Business Channel, that aired on July 3, 2010. Horwitz was one of three guests discussing federal stimulus spending and economic discussions of the G-20 summit.
Nationally syndicated columnist Jonah Goldberg cited research by Horwitz on June 26, 2010; among the publications running the piece, or citing it, were the Dallas (TX) Morning News, Erie (PA) Times-News, Arizona Daily Star, Fort Lauderdale (FL) Sun-Sentinel, Boston (MA) Herald, New York Post and the blog RealClearPolitics.
