|Prints From St. Lawrence University Collection On Exhibition At Embassy Of Canada
St. Lawrence University's Richard F. Brush Art Gallery has partnered with the Embassy of Canada in Washington, DC, for an exhibition of contemporary Inuit art at the embassy. "Nipirasait: Many Voices, Inuit Prints from Cape Dorset," a collection of 36 prints, celebrates the 50th anniversary of Kinngait Studios of Cape Dorset, Nunavut.
|NCPR's David Sommerstein Wins National Edward R. Murrow Award
North Country Public Radio's David Sommerstein has been named a 2010 National Edward R. Murrow Award winner by the Radio Television Digital News Association for excellence in electronic journalism. Sommerstein won for investigative reporting for "Seaway Valley & Hackett's: A Special Report."
Travis Proulx '04 In The Capitol's '40 Under 40'
Travis Babcock Proulx '04 has been named to The Capitol's "40 Under 40" list of "rising stars in government and politics" in Albany. The publication covers New York State government topics.
|Martin Papp '08 In Chinese Version Of 'Idol'
Martin Papp '08 is the first and only American to make it to the finals round of the Chinese version of "American Idol," called "SuperBoy." Papp, originally of Colorado Springs, is an English teacher in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. He spent a semester studying in China while a student at St. Lawrence.
Women's Cross Country Captains Named
St. Lawrence University women's cross country head coach Mike Howard has announced the captains for the upcoming 2010 season. The Saints, coming off a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championships, will be captained by graduate student Alexis Nuffer and seniors Wendy Pavlus and Katie Loignon.
