Alumni Reunion Weekend At St. Lawrence June 3-6
Reunion Weekend 2010 was held Thursday through Sunday, with over 800 alumni returning to campus. Check out a photo album of the weekend.
Twelve of the15 Reunion "milestone" classes set all-time best records in dollars raised and/or participation in Reunion giving. Three classes set Reunion fundraising records for the 35th, 40th and 50th reunions: the classes of 1975, 1970 and 1960, respectively. Complete totals for Reunion giving are still being compiled.
|Settle the Score Challenge with Hobart William Smith
Time to settle the score! Who has the most loyal alumni, St. Lawrence (yes!) or Hobart William Smith? The school with the most alumni donors during the month of June will claim "bragging rights" for the most loyal alumni! A gift, of any size, counts towards the challenge.
|Four Join St. Lawrence Board Of Trustees
Four people have been elected to the St. Lawrence University Board of Trustees. All four are graduates of the University and will begin six-year terms on July 1, 2010.
|Thirty-One Students Awarded Internship Fellowships For Summer 2010
Thirty-one students have been awarded internship fellowships for the summer of 2010, allowing them to pursue career opportunities in a
variety of fields. The fellowships are awarded through the Career Services office.
|St. Lawrence in the News
An opinion piece by Nora Wolinsky '10, advising students to take an acting class in college, was published by the Syracuse, N.Y., Post-Standard on June 4, 2010.
|The Pittsfield, MA, Berkshire Eagle published a June 3, 2010 story about research on zebra mussels in Laurel Lake, including the fact that environmental studies major Bill Sitzer '11, of nearby Lenox, is part of the research team, having gained experience at St. Lawrence.
|The retirement of custodian Carl Hull, employed by the University for 53 years, was noted in a Watertown Daily Times feature story that was published June 2, 2010.
|A May 21, 2010 Associated Press story that ran in newspapers across the country, including The New York Times, featured women who are professional rock-climbing guides; Emilie Drinkwater '98 was quoted in the story, which noted that she began climbing while a student at St. Lawrence.
