Assistant Professor of Education Peter D. Ladd's 2009 book, Emotional Addictions: A Reference Book for Addictions and
Mental Health Counseling, won a 2010 International Book Award, in the Health: Addiction & Recovery category.

The United Way of Northern New York, which includes St. Lawrence, Jefferson and Lewis Counties, has announced that St. Lawrence University is in its Top 10 for employee campaigns.

Viggo Mortensen '80 Honored In Denmark
Viggo Mortensen '80 was awarded the Knight's Cross of Dannebrog April 16, 2010, as part of the official celebration
of the 70th birthday of Queen Margarethe of Denmark. Mortensen was one of about 50 people to receive the honor.

Year Ends With Another National Title Holder
An outstanding 2009-10 year in athletics ended on a positive note for the Saints last weekend, as members of the crew and track and field teams competed in the NCAA Championships. Alyssa Pirinelli '10 capped one of the best field event careers in women's track history when she won the shot put title at the outdoor championships at Baldwin Wallace College. Pirinelli, who also won the indoor title this year, finished her career with seven All America crowns in the shot put. Dan Ramsey '11 also garnered All America honors in men's track by finishing eighth in the 5000 meters. Ramsey was also an All American in cross country and indoor track this season. Women's crew saw its Varsity 8+ boat finish second in the Petite Final for the second straight year at the NCAAs in Gold River, CA. The boat was stroked by Elizabeth Stokes-Cawley '11 and Laureen Reed '11 was the coxswain. Also rowing were Jane Connolly '10, Amelia Bell '10, Amelia Lalley '10, Eloise Lachance '10, Kathleen Slocum '12, Jessica Burdett '13 and Margaret Fellows '13.
