Potsdam Team Wins SLU Math Contest
A team from Potsdam Central School won the 66th Annual Pi Mu Epsilon Interscholastic Mathematics Contest, held recently at St. Lawrence University and sponsored by the University's mathematics, computer science and statistics department and the local chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon, the mathematics honorary. The win broke a long-standing streak by Canton's Hugh C. Williams High School.

University Chorus Spring Concert Theme Is 'Home, Sweet Home' The spring concert of the University Chorus, "Home, Sweet Home: Family, Friends and Lovers," will be on Saturday, April 17, at 8 p.m. in Gunnsion Memorial Chapel. The event is open to the public, free of charge.

Time Travel Is Topic For Talk At St. Lawrence
"Time Traveler: A Scientist's Personal Mission to Make Time Travel a Reality" is the title of the 2010 Alfred Romer Memorial Lecture at St. Lawrence University, to be delivered by Ronald Mallett, of the University of Connecticut physics department, on Wednesday, April 21, at 8 p.m. in the auditorium of Hepburn Hall. The event is open to the public, free of charge.

SLU Writers Series 2009-2010 Concludes With Richard Rubin April 22 The St. Lawrence University Writers Series will conclude for the 2009-2010 academic year with an appearance by Viebranz Visiting Professor of Creative Writing Richard Rubin on Thursday, April 22, at 8 p.m. in the Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall. The event is open to the public, free of charge.

SLU Alumni On Steering Committee Of Group Supporting Adirondack Wild Center
Several St. Lawrence graduates are involved in the formation of a new group that hopes to connect young adults from inside and outside of the Adirondack Park in support of the Wild Center in Tupper Lake, while also supporting the region.

Men's Tennis Downs Skidmore
The men's tennis team defeated conference opponent Skidmore College, who is regionally-ranked 9th in the Northeast, by a score of 6-3 in Saratoga Springs, NY for the first time in 12 years. Baseball scored five runs in the top of the seventh to overcome a Union lead and take a 9-5 win, sweeping Sunday's doubleheader and taking three out of four from the Dutchmen. Softball earned a split, winning the second game 6-3, in a double-header against SUNY Plattsburgh. The women's golf team finished fifth in its first outing of the spring 2010 season, placing in the middle of the field at the 11-team Vassar College Invitational. In women's track, Wendy Pavlus '11 ran the best time in the nation thus far this season in the 5000 meters, finishing second in the Bucknell Outdoor Classic Invitational 5000 meter race and Alyssa Pirinelli '10 met NCAA automatic qualification in the shot put, with the best throw in the nation thus far this season for Division III competitors. Dan Ramsey ran his second best time ever in the 5000 meters for men's track, despite cold and blustery conditions, finishing 10th in the Invitational 5000 at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic. Despite a valiant effort by the women's tennis team, conference opponent Skidmore College, who is ranked 8th in the Northeast Region, defeated the Saints.
