Campus News Looking for Summer Reading Ideas? The Owen D. Library blog Odyssey Online has been offering great ideas for summer reading. Here's the most recent post, and check out ideas from past weeks! …we have a new edition of Tolkien in the collection, The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun, his retelling in verse of two Norse myths (edited by Christopher Tolkien). Spending time in the pleasant summer months (c’mon, a few days have been pleasant) reading and rereading Tolkien is certainly summer time spent well, and with Odyssey Online about to take a two week vacation, I thought I’d recommend new materials about Tolkien that we’ve got in the collection. We’ve been working to build the collection of scholarship on Tolkien, and these books ought to tide everyone over until we’re back to making recommendations in mid-August: History of the Hobbit by John D. Rateliff Ring of Words: Tolkien and the Oxford English Dictionary by Peter Gilliver, Jeremy Marshall, and Edmund Weiner Ents, Elves, and Eriador: The Environmental Vision of J.R.R. Sports News Margie Strait named ECAC Administrator of the Year: St. Lawrence University Director of Athletics Margie Strait has been named the 2009 recipient of the ECAC Jostens Female Administrator of the Year Award. She will be honored at the conference’s annual awards luncheon on October 6 in Hyannis, MA during the Fall Convention.For more
Web Site NEW Features, Updates, and Reminders NEW FEATURES! SLU Media Room: We've collected up and created a central location for all St. Lawrence videos! Now you can visit our Media Room to see past Student Views Videos by Chelsea Nuffer '10, the SLU helicopter video and any other videos we create over the next months. This week, Chelsea takes a hard-hat tour of campus to preview the summer renovations projects, including residence hall refurbishments; a new, energy-efficient cooling system for Appleton Hockey Arena and expansion of the arts performance facilities.
