St. Lawrence University Commencement Recap
St. Lawrence University Commencement on Sunday, May 17, celebrated the graduation of 494 students: 444 candidates for bachelor's degrees; 40 candidates for master of education degrees; four candidates for a master of science in mental health counseling; and six Certificates of Advanced Studies in education.
A video of Commencement will be posted when we receive it from Collegiate Video.
The Commencement web site has a recap of the ceremony, including a photo album, and texts of the speeches given by students and guests. Congratulations Class of 2009!
Trustees confer title of President Emeritus on President Daniel F. Sullivan
Upon his retirement June 30, 2009, Daniel F. Sullivan will become President Emeritus of St. Lawrence University, an honor conferred by the Board of Trustees at its meeting on Saturday, May 16. Their resolution concluded: "Therefore, the Board of Trustees, on behalf of every Laurentian, makes its formal gratitude and respect known by this declaration that Daniel F. Sullivan shall hereby be named President Emeritus of St. Lawrence University."
|Saints Sports Highlights
The women's golf team was invited to the NCAA Division III Championships last weekend in Port St. Lucie, FL and finished 14th. The Saints were as high as second during the first round and finished the second round in eighth place. Women's crew will be traveling to the NCAA Championships as well, May 29-31 at Camden, NJ. For women's track, Alyssa Pirinelli won the shot put at the ECAC Championships, setting a school record. For the men's track team, the 4x100 relay also set a school record.

Student Views Videos, by Chelsea Nuffer '10
Student Views videos are produced and edited entirely by current St. Lawrence students. Chelsea Nuffer'10 starts her own series of videos for the summer and for the 2009-2010 academic year. Chelsea will return in early June to resume her video program as a summer intern.
Last week, Chelsea asked friends and classmates to share their favorite summer jobs.

Helicopter Video View of the North Country!
St. Lawrence collaborated with several regional institutions to commission a helicopter video of the North Country. Enjoy the video tour that begins with a bird's eye view of our varsity crew team practicing on the St. Lawrence river, then shares the Thousands Islands region, Canton, the St. Lawrence campus, the foothills of the Adirondacks, Canaras and the Upper Saranac Lake region.
