Saints Sports Highlights
National Champion! First-year student Lindsay Cone became the first women's alpine skier to win a national title last weekend, taking the giant slalom crown at the NCAA Championships at Sunday River in Bethel, ME. She also finished ninth in the slalom.
In nordic skiing, Kristen Bednar '09 finished 36th in the freestyle 15K. Men's hockey ran its unbeaten streak to eight games and advanced to the ECAC final four with a pair of 5-3 wins over Quinnipiac in the quarterfinals at Appleton Arena. The Saints will face Yale in the semifinals 4 p.m. Friday in Albany. Women's hockey saw its season end in the NCAA quarterfinals, losing 3-1 to Mercyhurst. Men's basketball's NCAA Tournament run also ended in the Sweet 16, dropping a 71-68 decision to Richard Stockton. Alyssa Pirinelli '10 and Wendy Pavlus '11 earned All America status for the women's track team at the NCAA Championships. For the men's track team, Eric Jones '10 finished second in the weight throw to also earn All America status. Baseball opened its season with a loss to Eastern Nazarene and split a double header with Scranton. Women's lacrosse lost its opener, 10-6 to Nazareth.

St. Lawrence collaborated with several regional institutions to commission a helicopter video of the North Country. Enjoy the video tour that begins with a bird's eye view of our varsity crew team practicing on the St. Lawrence river, then shares the Thousands Islands region, Canton, the St. Lawrence campus, the foothills of the Adirondacks, Canaras and the Upper Saranac Lake region.
