St. Lawrence YouTube site
You can watch SLU videos in many ways, including links on our own Web site's SLU Live! page, and now, on an SLU YouTube site. The YouTube site includes a four-minute, student-produced video on the academic, extracurricular and athletic passions of St. Lawrence students. Hassan Raza '11 and Jim Mayers '11 produced this piece in the spring, and hope to be producing more student perspectives over the next year. These student-produced videos give everyone another view of St. Lawrence!

Summer blogs
Blake Carbone '09 and Josh Johnson '10 keep you up to date with their summer internships in the admissions office. Here's an excerpt from Josh's blog: One of the coolest places to take advantage of near St. Lawrence is the Adirondack region. Thispast weekend some of the interns (Evan, Lyndsay & Bela), our housemate Carl and I climbed two of the high peaks in the Adirondacks, called Cascade and Porter. There are so many opportunities for hiking, biking, canoeing, and simply taking advantage of nature surrounding SLU. Read Josh's blog.
And an excerpt from Blake's blog: This past Wednesday John, Tim M., the other admissions interns and I went to Ottawa, Ontario for a half day. Only a 45 minute drive, St. Lawrence is actually the closest US university to a foreign capital. Here we visited Parliament, got caught in quite a few downpours while walking through the market (By Ward Market), walked through the Museum of Civilization and finally sat down to a nice warm meal at an Irish Pub. I had never been to downtown Ottawa before (I went once my sophomore year to a Senators hockey game against the Buffalo Sabres but never went into the city) and was marveled by its history, culture, and architecture. Hassan Raza '11 is blogging from his internship at The Chautauqua Institution, where he is part of a three-student team examining the Abrahamic religions. An excerpt: With only days left before my return to St. Lawrence, I can say that while my time here has flown by, Chautauqua truly has been a place like St. Lawrence – one where I have found the best in life. Where else could you enjoy a tranquil afternoon conversing with people like David Oliver Relin co-author of Three Cups of Tea, cook a full Lebanese dinner, and accompany a very talented sitar player for a classical South-Asian Sufi music performance in the same day? Read Hassan's blog
Tsewang Lama '10 is blogging from her home in Nepal after an internship in Toronto. Her latest entry includes poignant thoughts about her native country: I do not know what Nepal is anymore... Where is the peace and change that everyone is raving out? I do not see it. To some the overhaul of the government is the answer but my response to that particular change is still so what? Read Tsewang's blog.
Admissions Counselors Bridget Everly and John Gursky are also blogging: Our interns also facilitated an Online Chat last week (and have another one on the 19th of August.) We had several rising high school seniors log on and chat with our interns about everything from campus life to athletics to different majors and minors offered. If you can’t make it to campus for a visit, try to make it to one of our chats! It is the best way to get a current student’s perspective on their St. Lawrence experience without actually visiting campus. We will be having online chats throughout the Fall. Check the website frequently for updated times. Read more from Bridget and John.
