NCPR Takes Top Honors At New York Associated Press Awards
North Country Public Radio (NCPR) took top honors in the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Awards Competition, announced June 7. The station, hosted at St. Lawrence, was honored with eight first-place awards, two special mentions and The Steve Flanders Grand Prize, given to one radio station that exemplifies the best traditions of journalistic initiative and dedication in providing a complete news service to the listening public. NCPR, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, was chosen for the AP's Grand Prize over all radio stations in New York, regardless of commercial or public status or market size. For more

Kasarian Dane Painting Included In Syracuse's Everson Museum Exhibition
A painting by Assistant Professor of Fine Arts Kasarian Dane is included in the exhibition "The Object and Beyond: 2008 Everson Biennial" at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse. More than 266 artists residing in the Central New York region submitted more than 1,000 works for consideration by exhibition juror Edward Winkleman, an independent curator and director of Winkleman Gallery in Chelsea, New York, who specializes in contemporary art. He selected works by 55 artists for the exhibition, opening June 13 and occupying all four galleries on the second floor of the museum. For more
