Alumni Reunion Weekend May 29-June 1 At St. Lawrence
More than 1,000 graduates and guests are expected to participate in Alumni Reunion Weekend activities at
St. Lawrence University, from Thursday, May 29, through Sunday, June 1. Among the highlights of the weekend is the presentation of Alumni Citations to four outstanding graduates: Sanford Schram '71, Susan Talve '75, Barbara Philipp '75, Willie Janeway '85 and the Sol Feinstone Humanitarian Award to Nellie Coakley M'85.

2008 McNair Scholars announced
From "The Underground World of Human Trafficking" to "Composition of Non-Fiction Manuscript: Personal Memoir Examining Mother-Daughter Relationship and Familial History", the McNair Scholar research projects show the diversity of intellectual pursuit on campus. Thirteen students have been selected as McNair Scholars at St. Lawrence for the summer of 2008, enabling each to conduct research with a faculty mentor. Vice President for University Advancement Michael Archibald was quoted in a May 15 story in USA Today about trends in senior-class gifts; the Class of 2008 gift, of a covered bicycle garage, is also mentioned in a blog on the newspaper's Web site, about "green" gifts from classes, and on the University Business Web site.

NCAAs for three teams!
A total of six men's and women's track athletes will participate in the NCAA Division III Championships. The women's crew will be making the first appearance in the NCAA championships in school history. The women's golf team finished 15th at the NCAA tournament.

She was one of a handful of pioneer women's suffragists who lived long enough to vote for President of the United States, in 1920.
