Professor Torres publishes book
A new book by a St. Lawrence University sociology professor Robert Torres explores
the intersections between human and animal oppressions in relation
to "the exploitative dynamics of capitalism." For more |

Alice Elliott Dark will speak and read from recent work in an appearance
at St. Lawrence University on Monday, November 12, at 8 p.m. in the
Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall. The event, part of the University's

discuss and screen documentary
Filmmaker Daniel Karslake will be at St. Lawrence University November
13 and 14, for two discussions on and screenings of his award-winning
documentary For The Bible Tells Me So, which explores
the many facets of the current national conversation regarding the
rift between religion and homosexuality - religious, scientific or

North Country Citation
Nominations are due December 14, 2007, for the 2008 North Country
Citation awarded by St. Lawrence University. For more |
Geology faculty and
students present at national conference
Three students and four faculty members from St. Lawrence University
gave presentations at the 119th annual meeting of the Geological
Society of America, held in Denver October 27-31. The event draws
about 6,300 geoscientists. For more |

Sophomore
tailback Connor Hackett racked up 182 rushing yards and four touchdowns as
the football team routed Merchant Marine 40-16. Women's hockey
swept a weekend series at Wayne State, 5-3 and 5-2, but the men
had a tough time at home, losing 2-1 to Dartmouth and 6-1 to Harvard. Men's
soccer advanced to the finals of the Liberty League tournament,
but lost 1-0 to Hamilton. Erik Donohue placed second, as did
the men's cross country team at the state championships. The women
placed fourth.
