Class of 2006 reports 95.6 rate for employment or graduate school
One year after graduation, 95.9 percent of St. Lawrence University's
Class of 2006 who responded to a survey report either being employed
or in graduate school, the highest total placement rate reported since

Mellon Foundation awards $250,000 grant for rhetoric and communication
St. Lawrence University
has been awarded a $250,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation,
for use over five years to support a new program in rhetoric and

Student attends national conference
Michaela Stewart '08, of Averill
Park, NY, attended the 2007 Public Choice Outreach Conference, held
at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, July 12-15. The conference
is designed for young scholars who are planning professional careers
in academia, law or public policy and features nationally known speakers
in economics, politics and other topics.

Professor of Psychology Alan Searleman was quoted in a story about
left-handedness that ran in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin (Ontario,
CA) and the San Bernadino Sun on August 13 -- International
Left-Handers Day. |
 An editorial in the
July 10 issue of the Malone, New York, Telegram congratulated
the University and two professors for grant awards they received
for conducting research on local issues. Associate Professor of Geology
Jeffrey Chiarenzelli and Assistant Professor of Biology Aswini Pai
were each awarded grants from SUNY Potsdam's Center for Regional
Research and Community Education's T. Urling and Mabel Walker Fellowship
Program. |

July issue of University Business magazine included an
article about the University's annual Faculty College; Associate
