SLU meets challenge to raise $4.5 million, earning $1 million from the Kresge Foundation
St. Lawrence University has met the Kresge Foundation Challenge, raising over $4.5 million by April 1, 2007, which means a $1 million grant from the foundation. The funds are dedicated to the construction of the Johnson Hall of Science. For more |
Student video on climate change wins national award

'09, of Medfield, MA, the president of the SLU Coalition on Climate
Change, is the winner of the national "Hot Spot" video
contest sponsored by the League of Conservation Voters. The 30-second
video he made will be sent to presidential candidates, and he's being
sent to the New York Live Earth concert taking place on July 7. For

Jay Ireland '77 named president and CEO of GE Asset Management Incorporated (GEAM)
General Electric Company has announced that St. Lawrence Trustee Jay Ireland '77 has been named president and CEO of GE Asset Management Incorporated (GEAM). In this role, he will become a member of GE's Corporate Executive Council and the GE Capital Board of Directors. Ireland succeeds Ronald Pressman, who has been named president and CEO of GE Real Estate. For more

how American universities are re-emphasizing teaching as a priority
in a June 29 article in The Times of London's Higher Education

Park internship. A sample: If we come across a bear I would be the first to meet it so I was vigilant. I followed the GPS and it led us to a large hill that we needed to go down, however we noticed two Grizzly bears at the bottom so we decided to abandon searching that particular site.
