 Flanagan and Howard earn honors
St. Lawrence University women’s ice hockey coach Paul Flanagan
has been named an assistant coach for the U.S. women’s select
and national teams which will be playing in international competitions
over the next year. Men’s and women’s track coach Mike
Howard was named both Liberty League men’s and women’s
Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year in voting by league coaches. For

Brian Mann receives prestigious national award for feature story
The Radio-Television
News Directors Association (RTDNA) has announced the winners of the
highly prestigious 2007 National Edward R. Murrow Awards, honoring
excellence in electronic journalism. Brian Mann, North Country Public
Radio's Adirondack bureau chief, is being honored for Best Sports
Coverage for "Rugby Brings Elegance and Violence to the Adirondacks," his
story of the 33rd annual Can-Am Rugby tournament held in Saranac
Lake and Lake Placid in August of 2006.

Mike Keenan to coach the Calgary Flames
Mike Keenan '72 has been named head coach of the Calgary Flames
hockey team. The appointment makes Keenan the 13th head coach in the

we drove to Mammoth we came across a herd of about 50-75 bison
using the road as their own personal highway. A little further
down the road we spooked a young Grizzly bear in a creek that stood
