Professor Pomponio named a Fulbright Scholar
St.
Lawrence University Professor of Anthropology Alice Pomponio has
been named a Fulbright Scholar, and will spend the 2007-2008 academic
year in Siena, Italy. Her plans include team-teaching with a colleague at the university a graduate course, Ritual, Festivals and Performance: Comparing American and European Approaches; offering several public presentations on topics related to her work; and continuing research on the Palio, a horse race and pageant with medieval roots. In addition, Pomponio plans to teach a new course when she returns to St. Lawrence, on the arts and culture of the Italian Renaissance. For more |

Lawrence's traditional Moving-Up Day was held April 28, 2007, in
Gunnison Memorial Chapel, recognizing student achievement in a variety
of fields. For more |
Students receive internship fellowships to support pre-professional experiences this summer
Twenty-nine students
have been awarded internship fellowships for the summer of 2007,
allowing them to pursue career opportunities in a variety of fields.
The fellowships are awarded through the Career Services and Leadership

Athletics News
Men's
lacrosse saw its season end in the first round of the NCAA
Division III playoffs, 13-8 to Cortland. The loss ended a 12-game
win streak for the Saints, who finished the season at 14-2. Baseball
advanced to the Liberty League championship game before falling to
Skidmore. More
