St. Lawrence Joins College Presidents' Climate Commitment
St. Lawrence University has joined with over 150 American colleges
and universities in committing to "carbon neutrality" in
its campus operations, with President Daniel F. Sullivan signing
the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment.

Professor Steven White Awarded Fulbright & Piskor Lectureship
St.
Lawrence University Professor of Modern Languages and Literatures
Steven F. White has been selected for a Fulbright Senior Specialists
project and has also been named the 2008 Frank P. Piskor Faculty Lecturer
at St. Lawrence. For both projects, White will be studying ecology
and literature.

Culture-Biology Conflict Topic For St. Lawrence Lecture
David Barash, professor of psychology at the University of Washington in Seattle,
will give a talk at St. Lawrence University called "The Hare and the Tortoise:
The Conflict between Culture and Biology in Human Affairs, or When Baboons
Drive Hummers." The lecture, on Thursday, April 26, at 5 p.m. in the auditorium
of Hepburn Hall, is open to the public, free of charge.

The annual Festival of Science, Wednesday, April 18, will feature posters and presentations of student science researchers. The Student Symposium during the annual Festival of Science (FOS) is a successful, valued, and growing opportunity for SLU undergraduates to share the results of their research with the campus community. Senior Jessica Campbell won the Zone II Championship in Novice Equitation on the Flat and will join Dorothy Douglas and Brittan White as Saint representatives at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championship Show in May. The No. 12 St. Lawrence University men’s lacrosse team pulled
out a hard-earned win against Liberty League foe Hamilton College. Drew Bagnall added 1st team All America to his list of senior honors and was named national Defenseman of the Year by the editors of Inside College Hockey, earning first team All America honors from INCH as well.
