FACULTY APPOINTED TO ADMINISTRATIVE POSTS
Two faculty members at St. Lawrence University have been appointed
to key administrative posts: Associate Professor of Psychology
Catherine A. Crosby-Currie has been named associate dean of the
first year, effective July 15, and Associate Professor of English
Margaret Kent Bass has been named associate dean of the University's
new Center for Diversity and Social Justice, for a three-year term
beginning July 1. Both will continue to teach classes, in addition

STUDENTS WIN '100 PROJECTS FOR PEACE' GRANTS
The Kathryn Wasserman Davis 100 Projects for Peace program has announced that
students from 65 colleges and universities, including St. Lawrence, will receive
funding to undertake their proposed projects. Philanthropist Kathryn Wasserman
Davis, on the occasion of her 100th birthday, established the new program with
a donation of one million dollars so that each of the projects will receive $10,000.
The objective of the program is to encourage and support motivated youth to create
and implement their ideas for building peace throughout the world in the 21st

Montreal business executive Andre Couture, a 1982 graduate of St. Lawrence University,
has been elected to the University's Board of Trustees, for a six-year term beginning
July 1. Couture is the chairman of Sanimax, an international company that creates

Paige McKnight '08, of Chase Mills, has received the Outstanding Student Employee
award from the Northern New York Library Network (NNYLN). McKnight, a graduate
of Madrid-Waddington High School, was nominated for the award by Owen D. Young

St. Lawrence University will host the 5th Annual North Country Symposium on Education,
Environment, and Economic Vitality on Tuesday, April 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. in Eben Holden Conference Center on campus. The North Country Symposium is a project of the University's Canton Initiative and is sponsored by the University's Ellen C. Burt '42 Endowment. Senior Jessica Campbell won the Zone II Championship in Novice Equitation on the Flat and will join Dorothy Douglas and Brittan White as Saint representatives at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championship Show in May. The No. 12 St. Lawrence University men’s lacrosse team pulled
out a hard-earned win against Liberty League foe Hamilton College. Drew Bagnall added 1st team All America to his list of senior honors and was named national Defenseman of the Year by the editors of Inside College Hockey, earning first team All America honors from INCH as well. More Athletics News
