and Physics Lab Coordinator Jeffrey Miller to the Arecibo Observatory
in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, to conduct research using the facility's

Doreen Tobin'74 wins association's award for outstanding performance
Doreen M. Tobin '74, MEd '75, interim vice president for student
affairs at East Stroudsburg University, has received the Ted K.
Miller Achievement of Excellence Award from the Council for the
Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). The award "recognizes
outstanding accomplishments in advancing standards of practice and
quality assurance in educational programs and services in higher
education, with the goal of enhancing student learning." For

Priest Associate Professor of Physics Aileen O'Donoghue was featured in a lengthy interview about science, especially astronomy, and faith on the January 7 edition of Provoke Radio. Provoke's mission is to engage listeners in "a reflection of important contemporary issues from the perspective of your own faith." |
Exoo quoted in Christian Science Monitor
Professor of Government Calvin F. Exoo is quoted in a January 5 story in The Christian Science Monitor, on the likelihood of a woman or member of a minority group being elected president of the U.S. in 2008.

Hockey teams have big weekend, track and field starts strong
The men's hockey team completed a sweep of its Cornell/Colgate competition this weekend to secure #2 spot in the
ECACHL standings. The women's hockey team swept Yale and Brown, the men's and women's track and field teams had strong starts to their seasons. Check out all the Athletics news.
SLU-Clarkson Greek chapters team up to benefit community
Kappa Delta Sigma sorority will team up within the "Puck Run" with Clarkson's fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, in a fundraiser for the Canton-Potsdam hospital. Both organizations take turns running the full distance from Cheel Arena at Clarkson to Appleton Arena to finally drop the puck for the start of the game on the St. Lawrence home ice on January 23rd. |
